Talentty Widgets – Thanks Gautam Ghosh, we are listening you

August 26, 2008 by Santosh

We have launched first Job Widget (is it first in India to launch a small widget? probably yes as big players haven’t done yet, so we thought to serve the need) .

Why are we thanking Gautam - Gautam is thought leader & top blogger. He has been passionately suggesting (here, here) that job sites in India are not reaching to audience/users with the new media like Widgets, Social Networking Platforms. We took him seriously and implemented few widgets. For now IGoogle is launched and in coming days widget for Blogspot, WordPress, Orkut will be launched.

Widget, so what – We are not claiming this widget is great thing we have done. No, not at all. But yes we are doing in what we truly believe in Talentty “Let job reach to professionals”. As Web is evolving as a platform, less and less user are coming to job sites directly and more spend time on Orkut, Facebook and many such social network or have their personalized platform like IGoogle, Netvibes. So we thought let’s make an attempt to reach them. We hope these will bring values to employers posting jobs in Talentty as via the widget their jobs will spread much further and to deeper in the web.

Find the talentty widget here : http://www.talentty.com/widget/talenttywidget

Comments, suggestions are most welcome.

New features are on the way

August 25, 2008 by Santosh

We at Talentty are getting to hear from employers on what they need and also keenly looking at what our competitors are ignoring. We are here to try and bring changes for better value creation to employers and recruiters.

Lot of new features are on the way. Keep an eye on us :) We are working to introduce  various new stuff in coming days…

Online recruitment != CV Database

July 10, 2008 by Santosh

Oh the title is little geeky. :) Online recruitment is NOT CV Database

We at Talentty are speaking to lot of employers, hearing what they have to say, showing what we have to offer and basically sharing thoughts. This is primarily to understand what works for them and what doesn’t. Also creating an environment of co-learning.

I was surprised that many employers still consider job board as CV database :) I requested 5 minutes of their time to project how online recruitment has evolved with arrival of web2.0, social media, etc

Here are my thoughts as I shared with few employers.

Online recruitment is NOT

-NO longer only job listing

-NO longer about bunch of CV (randomly forwarded to employers by jobboard/site)

-NO longer about post a job and job seeker/career seeker will come

Online recruitment is

-Engaging your prospective employee/associates

-Projecting your image, brand, HR values, Organizational excellence

-Creating target audience

-Using new media to reach to prospective employee/associates (Blog, Twitter, Wiki, niche blog authors)

I have few more thoughts to share in next article.

Any comments, thoughts?

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

1.Gautam Ghosh – India’s Best HR Blogger. Apologies Gautam, we missed informing you when we launched as you had a very personal & private moment, we thought we will rather let you know later. And we missed.

Gautam wrote about Talentty : Some +ve and some precious suggestions http://gauteg.blogspot.com/2008/05/some-interesting-websites.html

Santosh from Talentty-> Thanks Gautam.  Talentty being an entrant and when the indian online recruitment industry market is over crowded and having 3 Big brothers :) (Naukri, Monster, Times Jobs), we are open to try innovative solutions. However we are not in hurry, as it takes time for any new entrant to settle down. We are talking to employers, evaluating value chain, going beyond the “me too” approach for bringing out solutions.

We will always value your suggestions, comments. Having followed you for last 4 years, I passionately look for you crticial analysis. Talentty team is also closely observing your comments :)

2.Parvez from Riyaans

Parvez said in official mail:

Regarding the design and combination, its look fantastic except few one thing. i.e.

1. The green color used in work area, can you match the green color with the color in the logo, currently its too fluorescent, which is disturbing to eyes.

2. Some where i have found ” ” this in the text, for example (check in mozilla)
http://www.talentty.com/talentboard/
TalentBoard Showcase
Bullet number 2. between “services classifieds”,
Solution :- This come’s due to extra space in two words, if the developer remove that extra space, this well get solved.

If I find any more thing i well let kyou know,

I am telling you this just because to make this website perfect. so please don’t mind it.

Regards

Parvez

Talentty 0.2 Live!

June 12, 2008 by Santosh

Hi All,

We are happy to announce that Talentty 0.2 has gone live. If some of you have followed us from the 0.1, you will see quite a list of changes in this release like

1. Bright colored design scheme

2.We are now open to all industry. Though “Software JobBoard” shows up big time, but our sales team is also talking to various industries.

3. We have introduced “City JobBoard“. This is completely a new concept in India as all other recruitment sites are mainly providing “search” options. We thought having a city based job board is easy to track, allow you to “refer quickly” rather than you scanning lakhs of jobs.

4. Employer microsite : We spoke to few valuable employers. They suggested that none of the recruitment sites allow them to “add HR elements” of their organization while they are publishing jobs.

We thought that is very very valuable advise and we implemented “Employer Microsite”. Employer can mention “about company”, “HR policy”, “Social responsibility”, etc. We at Talentty sure that every organization is different and a prospective candidate must have this information to choose the “right organization”.

5. TalentBoard : This is a new concept, Talentty is first to introduce this concept for prospective candidates to list/express their talent. This can be for job, for networking, for collaboration, etc (beyond imaginations :) The prospective candidates may do this “anonymously” to hide their profile

Employers, recruiters can assess such talent by engaging in a conversation. When they are happy, they can exchange details for assessment (interview..).

We are sure you will LIKE certain features (?), you may have suggestions and you may NOT LIKE. We are ready to hear you. As you would haven seen, we are making steady progress. We are still a baby (0.2 only) and we have many “disruptive” features planned for future release.

Apologies Apologies

June 12, 2008 by Santosh

We have not been able to blog about progress in Talentty and many small small changes we are bringing to the site and product.

Sincere apologies, we are also learning. Being a blogger, I shouldn’t have done this however with added responsibility to “think, work, architect, market, hear to customer”, the startup life has been on a high pace.

No more execuses, we are going to let you know a good news in next post and regularly.

Any comments, suggestions msot welcome.

Thanks,

Santosh

Talentty as reviewed by Bloggers

Amit of WebYantra has reviewed Talentty.com in his blog. FYI, if you have not visited WebYantra.net, you are missing a great deal of coverage and information Amit shares in his blog. If you have seen Amit’s name on SlideShare.net, yes he is the same man :) Thanks Amit, We at Talntty are working on your suggestions on UI improvements, etc.

Ashish from Pluggd.in has provided his valuable review thoughts. Pluggd.in is very popular among the startups and we at Talentty appreciate the team to cover us in their blog.

We are already live

March 29, 2008 by Santosh

Hi,

Talentty.com is already one week old. Apologies for a delayed messaging on Blog as we had quite a bit of task to handle ..

Just one week, we have dozens of employer posting jobs and being the first ones to believe we are offering something different. Thank you, we have long miles to go. I must admit, the online recruitment industry is hugely populated with many sites trying to do the ’same thing’. At Talentty.com, we have tried to be slightly different in offering following unique features

1. Specialized JobBoard

What it is : There are hugely popular job sites in India having million of jobs, they make perfect sense for big corporates to invest huge sum of money to put their job on main page but how about that small to medium range company who can’t always afford to do that, how can they list their jobs so that it “always shows up” having an unique place rather than getting crowded in bigger ocean.

That’s where we believe Talentty.com’s Specialized JobBoard like Software.talentty.com, php.talentty.com or bpo.talentty.com, etc makes our employers to list job prominently and target the audience.

Also from the professional (job seeker, we call them professional …job seeker is so old fashioned) point of view, if I specialize in Software Development, why do I need to spend hours in digging the software jobs among million on unrelated, aggregated industry jobs??

We would love to hear if our approach really going to benefit ? We are ready to hear your comments, we believe without that we can’t grow.

2. Matching Engine :-

Every day 1000’s of jobs are getting posted and million of professional looking for a career change.

HR professionals have better things todo rather than spending 80% time in filtering & hiring.

Professional have a busy career and reputations to manage while he/she is looking for a change. So absolutely it doesn’t make sense for them to spend hours in office time or personal time to filter million jobs.

So we thought why not we use the new technology, content matching, aspiration-requirement  matching between professional and employer via our Matching Engine and reduce the effort required to filter.

Matching Engine is in BETA stage but we intend to offer path-breaking solutions to our community.

Do you have any insight on what is being overlooked in industry? We will love to hear.

3. Anonymous Profile/Private Profile

At Talentty.com, Professional’s profile is 100% private. Yes, in the age of Social network, does it makes sense?? We believe it makes sense because profession and personal life are 2 different things and we all are opening up to new world. There may be a day when all this will merge to one. For now, we see million of professionals prefer to stay “hidden/passive”. They have a better job, better life and better things todo, so they are not interested to be listed on a career portal/job site.

Therefore we thought, we must hear them. Using this Private profile and our matching Engine, such Potential passive professionals will get more direct info and take decision when it matters to them.

4. Startup Friendly

We eat, drink and live with Statups. Our team has worked with statrups in the past  and we believe they are the best gift to a society, nation and individual. We at talentty.com, have a spcialized JobBoard : http://startup.talentty.com/

We are also going to offer Startup companies to post their job in Startup JobBoard FREE, always.

Also we believe being new entrant to market, we will hear you 200%. We are offering FREE service so it doesn’t add to your cost. Also we have an existing community of 1000’s daily subscribers from our sister concern JobMilan.

You are most welcome. We are here to bring innovation and we are determined. It will only make more sense when you let us know, correct us, comment us and may be just say “Hi” :)

Thanks,

Santosh
